About the position

The Digital Content Specialist at LifeWay Christian Resources plays a crucial role in ensuring the development of trustworthy and biblically accurate content for ministry leaders. This position involves editing assigned products to align with the Baptist Faith and Message and conservative evangelical theology, ensuring that the content is instructional, sound, and relevant to the target audience. The Digital Content Specialist will also lead both in-person and virtual training sessions as assigned, contributing to the overall mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ. In this role, the specialist will collaborate closely with the publishing and media teams to create content that fuels ministry efforts. This includes editing manuscripts with sensitivity to potentially controversial issues and ensuring that all content adheres to conservative evangelical theology. The specialist will represent the publishing team during video shoots and will be responsible for identifying, recruiting, and coordinating outside curriculum writers to develop fresh content for various resources. Additionally, the role requires initiating contracts and managing payments for writers, as well as collaborating with the IT team to design and deliver files for platform use. The Digital Content Specialist will engage regularly with church leaders to listen, encourage, and discover ways to develop resources based on relevant church practices and customer needs. This includes providing training sessions both virtually and in-person 8-10 times per year. Staying current with cultural issues and research related to children and parents is essential to inform content accuracy. The specialist will also assist in curating, writing, and editing content/resources for parents and volunteers, ensuring that all materials are relevant and impactful.

Responsibilities
? Collaborates between publishing team and media team to develop trustworthy content that fuels ministry by aligning with Scripture, Baptist Faith and Message, and conservative evangelical theology.

? Edits manuscripts with sensitivity to potentially controversial issues and to ensure conservative evangelical theology.

? Represents publishing team by being on-set for video shoots.

? Identifies, recruits, enlists, and coordinates outside curriculum writers to develop fresh content for resources.

? Initiates contracts and requests payments for writers.

? Monthly collaborates with IT team to design and deliver files for platform use.

? Regularly engages in conversations with church leaders to listen, encourage, and discover ways to develop resources based on relevant church practices and customer needs; provide training, virtually and in-person 8-10 times per year.

? Stays current with cultural issues and research pertaining to children and parents in order to inform content accuracy.

? Assists with curating, writing, and editing content/resources for parents and volunteers.

? Writes content for sessions and session scripts as needed.

Requirements
? Bachelor's degree in Media/Video/Film production, Bible, Christian education, English, Journalism, or Communications.

? 3-5 years of editorial experience.
,
? 3-5 years of church staff and denominational experience.
,
? Ability to travel to attend meetings and to lead trainings (8-10 times per year).

? Efficient self-governing time management skills.

? Ability to meet weekly/monthly/annual deadlines.
