The Director, Technology will be part of a team responsible for partnering and supporting technology and IT needs within local operations health plan markets. You will work directly with our clients to provide IT support for daily operations, regulatory initiatives and transformative solutions to solve complex business problems and opportunities, recommending and partnering with Health Plan leaders, state partners, vendors, and connecting technology partners to the health plan. You will bring your passion for improving care delivery, while effectively working in a dynamic, fast paced environment and be confident interacting with senior leaders (C-suite), providers, and business partners.

You will leverage your business knowledge in the healthcare industry to support daily and innovative IT efforts, along with the ability to excel in high impact and escalated crisis situations. Serving as the key client contact for all IT efforts including delivery areas for Community & States IT projects for our Ohio business. The primary goal of this position is to provide executive oversight and leadership within United?s strong matrixed environment, to meet the IT needs of the business and state partners while achieving contractual compliance. You?ll enjoy working in a collaborative environment as you take on some tough challenges in supporting and partnering with local health plan markets.

Primary Responsibilities: ? Build and improve state, health plan, IT, and service unit partnerships to establish long-lasting transparent and trusting relationships, while representing UnitedHealthcare at state meetings and interacting with senior health plan and shared services leaders ? Represent United at state meetings and collaborate with other managed care organizations to influence the design, timeline, and drive common processes for state requirements and deliverables ? Influence and negotiate effectively to arrive at win-win solutions related to IT initiatives with state partner, health plan, IT, and business service partners ? Ensure compliance with state requirements for transaction loading and technology platform compliance ? Lead change and innovation by demonstrating emotional resilience, effectively managing change through proactive communication, and making sound and disciplined decisions using IT and healthcare business knowledge ? Provide subject matter expertise on business capabilities, translating business needs into technical requirements for growth and regulatory IT initiatives, while strategizing and prioritizing IT needs through collaboration with business leaders and alignment with strategic plans ? Collaborate and provide strategic leadership, subject matter expertise, and assistance in writing winning technology solutions and responses to RFPs to support United's growth initiatives

Required Qualifications: ? Bachelor?s degree or 5 years of Medicare/Medicaid experience ? 7 years of professional IT experience and/or healthcare operations experience ? 5 years of professional management experience in a large, enterprise environment including experience with Medicare/Medicaid experience ? 5 years of experience driving teams and/or managing workloads for IT team ? 5 years of Healthcare Industry Experience ? 5 years of internal/external client relationship management ? U.S. Citizenship

Preferred Qualifications: ? Advanced Degree ? Experience leading distributed/matrixed teams ? Experience in Strategy Development ? All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group?s Telecommuter Policy
