About the position

BlackRock's Event Driven team is at the forefront of managing a suite of event-driven funds tailored for both institutional and retail clients. This team oversees three distinct funds: a Cayman Hedge Fund, a UCITS fund, and a 1940 Act mutual fund. The investment strategy is centered around catalyst-driven situations, which encompass a variety of scenarios such as announced mergers and acquisitions, spin-offs, management changes, financial and strategic restructurings, synergistic acquisitions, and collaborative activism. The Fund is designed to invest across the capital structure, enabling the team to generate alpha by implementing their best ideas within a flexible, risk-aware framework. The Event Driven team is currently seeking an Associate to bolster the research and investment processes. This role is pivotal in performing deep modeling, conducting fundamental analysis, and engaging in thorough research for event-driven investments. The Associate will be responsible for conducting due diligence on new investments and monitoring existing positions, ensuring that the team remains informed and proactive in their investment strategies. Interaction with company management teams through meetings, calls, and conferences will be a key aspect of the role, allowing for a comprehensive understanding of the investments being pursued. The ability to synthesize and communicate analysis, conclusions, and recommendations effectively is essential, as is the capacity to assist the team in optimizing their overall return on time.

Responsibilities

Requirements
? High performer with one to three years investment banking experience

? Strong financial modeling, analytical and research skills
