Position Summary

The Vice President of Payer Relations will develop and execute the VGM payer relations strategy and assist in interpreting legislative and regulatory initiatives in the healthcare industry. By utilizing research and writing skills, the VP will aid in the education of these initiatives of VGM members and vendor partners.

To gain the support of legislators and government departments, you will assist the team in analyzing regulatory/reimbursement policy of public and private payer sources and provide education to internal and external stakeholders. Commitment to in-depth knowledge of our service offerings and partnerships, as well as high-quality customer service is crucial to success.

Reporting Accountability: SVP of Government & Regulatory Relations

Working Location: On-Site, Remote, Hybrid opportunities with regular travel required

Work Hours Classification: Full-time, exempt, Monday-Friday 8-5pm+

Responsibilities of the VP
? Develop and execute VGM payer relations strategy
? Provide content for VGM newsletters and legislative updates provided to members
? Monitor and research any new public/private payer alerts at the state and federal level
? Answer member and internal payer/policy/regulatory questions, via telephone or in person
? Produce content for policy updates and industry articles
? Read through regulatory guidance and provide education to all stakeholders
? Collaborate with social media coordinator to post/monitor social media
? Help prepare and participate in formal presentations
? Travel on behalf of VGM for speaking engagements, consulting, industry events, and more
? Perform other tasks as needed for the success of the business

Position Qualifications

Ideal candidates should be well versed in public policy, public/private insurance, and healthcare business operations.
? 5+ years of related professional experience working with public/private medical payers
? Experience reading and interpreting legislation and regulations with the ability to summarize to internal and external customers
? Knowledge and experience with billing practices in the DMEPOS industry
? Capacity to write regulatory interpretations, news publications/articles and social media posts
? Solid working knowledge of Excel and relevant software such as MS-office: Word, PowerPoint etc.
? Sound interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
? Strong critical thinking skills and dedication to research
? Client focused approach to work
? Highly organized with the ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple, potentially conflicting deadlines with attention to detail and within agreed timelines
? A flexible attitude with respect to work assignments and new learning

Physical Requirements
? Using technology efficiently such as computers, phones, misc. office equipment
? Off-hour meetings and events on occasion
? Regular travel required

Compensation

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. We are a 100% employee-owned company that provides an extensive total rewards package with employee stock ownership + 401k match.

Salary range : $90,000-$150,000
