Key Responsibilities
? Manage a diverse portfolio by evaluating submissions and making informed decisions consistent with established guidelines in a timely manner.
? Maintain meticulous electronic underwriting files in accordance with company standards.
? Cultivate and sustain strong relationships with assigned brokers through prompt and effective communication regarding underwriting decisions.
? Conduct comprehensive reviews of upcoming renewals, ensuring accurate and timely issuance of renewal quotes and nonrenewal notices.
? Oversee the ongoing management of an existing portfolio to ensure high standards of service.
? Provide guidance and supervision to Underwriting Assistants as necessary.

Required Skills
? Profound knowledge of commercial property and casualty coverages and services.
? Proficient in computer applications, including intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Adobe.
? Strong negotiation and sales abilities, with the capacity to convey complex information effectively.
? Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
? Superior organizational and time management capabilities.
? Analytical and critical thinking skills with a keen attention to detail.
? Self-driven with a robust work ethic.

Qualifications
? High School diploma or equivalent is required; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
? P&C license is preferred; mandatory for residents of California.
? A minimum of five years of relevant experience in commercial property and casualty underwriting, with a sound understanding of the technical principles of rating and pricing.
