? * Travel: Occasional travel in common transportation carriers or a personal automobile may be required to perform this role. **
? * This is a part-time position (typically 2-6 pm Central [with an option to work 3-7 pm OR 4-8 pm Central] Monday-Friday) with expected coverage of four (4) hours each weekday afternoon, including some holidays, as required. **

Who we need: The Clinical Pharmacist reviews electronic prior authorization requests based on pre-established criteria and approves or denies requests. The selected candidate will also be responsible for assisting call center employees with email questions, modifications, and provider inquiries as required.

What you?ll do: * Review, create, or maintain various documents/reports used internally as well as publicly and ensure the information is correct.
? Perform various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the role, including prior authorization reviews, disease management, quality control, and criteria management.
? Attend and participate in meetings (in person, telephonic, and virtual) with Medicaid and other stakeholders.
? Conduct drug product research and provides recommendations for coverage and restrictions by applying Medicaid guidelines.
? Oversee the Pharmacy Lock In program.
? Review and revise drug lists for Pharmacy & Therapeutic (P&T) as well as Drug Utilization Review (DUR) meetings, review clinical packets for meetings, and coordination of appropriate lists once the clinical review is complete.
? Must hold a current preceptor license in the state of Alabama (or must obtain preceptor license within first 6 months of work). Accept pharmacy students from one or more school(s) of pharmacy in the state of Alabama. Coordinate and oversee all student activities, prepare and grade assignments in accordance with School of Pharmacy guidelines, and ensure the student receives a well-rounded rotation that reflects all aspects of Medicaid pharmacy, school requirements, and current policies.
? Travel to various meetings upon request of Medicaid (estimated annually as 5-10 day trips within the state and 1-4 overnight trips out of state) to represent Alabama Medicaid. Estimates are based on historical travel statements and may change.
? Meet and/or exceed production, quality, attendance, and adherence standards.
? Provide/assist in the training of other employees.
? Adhere to all company and Medicaid policies and procedures.
? Positively performs other duties as assigned.

What you?ll need:

Required Qualifications/Experience
? Bachelor?s Degree in Pharmacy.
? 3+ years of experience in outpatient/community pharmacy.

Preferred Qualifications/Experience
? Doctorate of Pharmacy Degree.

Licenses or Certifications:

License: Minimum - Licensed Pharmacist; holds an active and unrestricted license in the State of operation. Must hold a preceptor license (or must obtain a preceptor license within the first 6 months of work).

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities * A combination of comprehensive therapeutic knowledge, problem-solving skills, and judgment is necessary.
? Ability to work cooperatively with others; comprehension of the current standards of pharmacy practice; and understanding of the challenges of professional pharmacy practice.
? Ability to master computer/software applications necessary for completing job tasks as required.
? Ability to manage multiple employees and workloads at once and meet contractual deadlines.
? Ability to understand the functionality of applications for processing PA reviews (approvals and denials).
? Excellent verbal communication skills.
? Excellent research and writing skills.
? Maintain confidential and private information with no reason for complaint.
? Ability to represent Alabama Medicaid and Acentra Health in a professional manner with no reason for complaint.
