The Path Forward Return to Work program at Ansys is a 16-week paid returnship for experienced professionals returning to the workforce after taking time off for caregiving. The program is open to individuals who have at least 5 years of professional experience and have been out of the paid workforce for at least two years to focus on caring for yourself or a loved one. The Software Developer will be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team that is responsible for working with a network of expert professionals and apply their knowledge and experience to drive and enhance state-of- the-art simulation workflows and features for the Mechanical flagship product.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Enhance simulation workflows for the Mechanical flagship product by applying their developed knowledge and experience

Develop understanding of Mechanical user interface and enhance the code base to meet the needs of the users

Engages a network of expert professionals to collaborate and accomplish development objectives

Investigate defects in production code.

Develop unit tests for the developed features.

Analyze results and improve the usability of the software.

Minimum Education/ Certification Requirements and Experience

BS in Computer Science, Mechanical, Aerospace or related engineering field with minimum of 5 years of experience

Experience with C++ or any other object-oriented programming language

Exposure to scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

MS preferred with a minimum of 5 years of experience

Experience in using Microsoft Visual Studio and Software Configuration management tools (SVN, GIT)

Knowledge of agile development methodologies

Knowledge of software design patterns and test-driven development

Knowledge of Microsoft Technologies (.NET Framework, COM, ATL)

Understanding network programming, REST API, and/or GRPC.

Experience with Linux Operating System

Excellent written and oral communication skills
