Hours: Full-Time, 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM EST (with unpaid break)

Location: Remote- Must reside in WY

Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Temporary Mortgage Underwriter to join our team on a full-time basis. As a Mortgage Underwriter, you will play a critical role in assessing and evaluating mortgage loan applications to ensure they meet company guidelines and regulatory requirements. This position requires extensive experience in manually underwriting loans.

Responsibilities: ? Review and analyze mortgage loan applications to assess risk and ensure compliance with company policies, investor guidelines, and regulatory requirements. ? Verify accuracy and completeness of loan documentation and financial information. ? Conduct thorough analysis of borrower credit, income, assets, and collateral. ? Make sound underwriting decisions and provide clear explanations for loan approvals or denials. ? Communicate effectively with loan officers, processors, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and facilitate timely loan closings. ? Maintain current knowledge of industry regulations and underwriting guidelines.

Requirements: ? Proven experience as a Mortgage Underwriter with expertise in manually underwriting loans. ? In-depth knowledge of mortgage lending practices, guidelines, and regulations. ? Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. ? Excellent decision-making and problem-solving abilities. ? Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. ? Ability to work efficiently and independently in a remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications: ? Certification or designation in mortgage underwriting (e.g., NAMP Certified Mortgage Underwriter, CMU). ? Experience working with Encompass or similar loan origination software. ? Familiarity with FHA, VA, USDA, and conventional loan programs. ? Most recent experience must have been as a front line Underwriter ? Must be able to pass a criminal background check and Drug test. ? Experience working remotely and managing time effectively. ? Knowledge of FHA, VA, USDA, and conventional loan programs.

Duration: This position is temporary, with an expected duration of 4 months with possibility of perm. The working hours are from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST, Monday through Friday, with an unpaid break.
