Parsons is now hiring a remote, part-time Geospatial Software Engineer with a passion for innovating and solving novel challenges to support our Indo-Pacific customer.Specific Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand requirements and meet objectives; interact with data vendors, operational users, and technical developers to build and manage a low code/no code data visualization dashboard (Common Operating Picture, COP)
- Work alongside a multi-faceted cross-functional team; aid development of robust Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) pipelines and automated data workflows to support ingest, transformation, and delivery of geospatial data
- Basic understanding of AWS and ESRI software
- Maintain and improve codebases supporting data ingestion, validation, search indexing, and metadata association; design and implement geospatial data acquisition, cleaning, preparation, and conversion procedures
- Perform using Python, HTML, Arcade, and JavaScript (with knowledge of React framework) to update existing ArcGIS applications
- Create documentation (user manuals, technical updates, etc.)
- Educate and mentor on how to effectively use and interpret data, ensuring users can independently derive insights and make informed decisions
- Capable of intuitively solving complex problems, working independently, with minimal guidance; have excellent communication skills.
- Strong organizational and planning skills for tracking requests and project fulfillment.
- Able to work PST/PDT hours
- Active DoD Secret-level security clearance
- 5+ years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; will consider experience in lieu of degree
- 5+ years’ experience working in a multi-skilled team environment collaborating on data automation
- Well-versed in data visualization tools, such as ArcGIS
- Prior experience supporting an INDOPACOM or US Army customer
- Prior experience supporting INDOPACOM intelligence and/or operations
- Familiar with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Cloud architecture
- Familiar with data analytic, science, and engineering concepts
- Knowledge of Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes
