About the Role: The Director, Center for Teaching and Learning will report to the Provost and be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, maintaining, and assessing core services for learning in various modalities. You will also provide quality professional development that advances evidence-based organizational learning for faculty, staff, and students. Your expertise will be crucial in leading the program review process, distance education efforts, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to identify, schedule, deliver, and assess academic year programming.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the distance education department, initiatives, and professional development, providing overall leadership, coordination, and planning for learning management system (LMS) administration, course quality control, instructional design, and Eagle Tech support.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify, schedule, deliver, and assess academic year programming, including new faculty orientation, procedural workshops, guest speakers, and special topic workshops.
  • Research and evaluate emerging learning technologies, participate in strategic planning, and recommend best practices for teaching and learning.
  • Lead the Academic Program Review Process, create programming materials, and work in tandem with academic chairs, faculty leadership, and the IT department to enhance faculty effectiveness and integrate new technologies.
  • Maintain open communication with student service departments, assist with onboarding new faculty members, and collaborate with equity and inclusion efforts on campus.
  • Prepare budgets, administer funds, and develop reports and evaluations of programming and departmental activities.

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Education, Instructional Design, Curriculum Development, Communications, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • 3 years of college-level teaching experience.
  • Proven experience planning and leading professional development programming.
  • Supervisory experience and strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D./Terminal degree.
  • 5 years of college-level teaching experience.
  • Project management experience and experience managing a budget.
  • Proven ability to generate and deliver reports that provide useful insight into project details.
