About the Opportunity:
The Office of Juvenile Affairs – Central Oklahoma Juvenile Center is seeking a skilled and motivated Administrative Programs Manager to join our team. This full-time, regular position offers a competitive salary and the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people. Job Summary:
Positions in this job family involve professional-level work managing, coordinating, or directing a major phase of a comprehensive or specialized operating program. This role focuses on providing administrative support, program coordination, and process improvement – distinct from the Programs Manager role, which does not involve direct supervision. As an Administrative Programs Manager, you will play a vital role in planning, organizing, and executing programs and functions within the agency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate staff caretaker conduct and juvenile rule violations, ensuring timely and thorough investigations.
- Track investigation volume and timeliness, preparing monthly reports to identify and address outstanding issues.
- Plan, organize, and direct the systematic review of required documentation within the Records department.
- Ensure compliance with agency policies and procedures across all systems.
- Plan, develop, and conduct training programs as needed.
- Assist with drafting policies and procedures.
- Provide support with disciplinary hearings in the absence of the Disciplinary Hearing Officer.
- Offer assistance within the Records department as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience (one year of professional experience may substitute for each year of required education).
- Knowledge of organizational and management methods, public administration, agency policies and procedures, grant/contract program requirements, the legislative process, basic research and statistical techniques, and relevant federal and state laws and regulations.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, communicate effectively (oral and written), develop training programs, exercise sound judgment, and organize and present information clearly.
Special Requirements:
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- A 12-month trial period will be required.
