About the position Responsibilities • Support the collection, management, and cleaning of data, including interview data. • Design and customize reports based upon data in the database. • Support the oversight and monitoring of regulatory compliance for utilization of the data. • Contribute to the overall research program, including support and oversight of IRBs and DUAs. • Assist with the development and design of research findings for written reports to internal and external stakeholders. • Conduct literature searches, and write literature summaries and manuscripts, as requested by the Director of Research and/or Faculty Lead. • Employ new and existing tools to interpret, analyze, and visualize relationships in data. • Create databases and reports and perform analyses appropriate to data and reporting requirements. • Serve as a resource for non-routine inquiries such as requests for statistics or surveys. • Collaborate with and support faculty and research staff on data collection and analysis methods. • Participate in project planning and strategic thinking for overall growth and direction of research teams' projects and activities. Requirements • Bachelor of Arts degree in an applicable social science related field, or combination of education and relevant experience in an applicable social science. • General understanding of scientific theory and methods, typically gained through completion of an undergraduate degree in a related field. • General computer skills and ability to quickly learn and master computer programs. • Ability to work under deadlines with general guidance. • Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to complete detailed work accurately. • Effective oral and written communication skills. • Ability to work with human study participants. Nice-to-haves • Prior experience conducting interviews for research purposes, particularly with educators, education leaders and policy makers as participants. • Understanding of and/or prior experience working within the US public K-12 education system. • Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to set priorities and manage multiple projects. • Prior experience communicating findings to diverse audiences, in both oral and written formats.
