About the Role: Remote Financial Accountant

Wells Fargo is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join our Accounting Specialty Unit Support (ABUS) team. As a Monetary Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for recording, investigating, and reconciling financial transactions, as well as preparing and reviewing financial statements. This is a full-time remote opportunity that offers a competitive salary of $30-$35 per hour.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expertise to more experienced initiatives for financial accounting-related matters
  • Perform complex tasks related to maintaining record accounts, creating financial summaries, and administrative reports
  • Accumulate and audit financial data for financial and administrative reports
  • Review data from the general ledger, unit reports, and other financial systems to ensure accuracy
  • Prepare and review account reconciliations and certifications
  • Analyze projects related to financial accounting procedures, methods, or systems
  • Perform ongoing financial control functions in accordance with internal control policies
  • Provide functional advice and train people
  • Offer support for compliance and risk management requirements
  • Collaborate and communicate with stakeholders throughout the organization

Essential Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in finance, accounting, analysis, financial reporting, accounting reporting, or risk reporting, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A BA/BS degree or higher in Accounting
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to present complex material in a clear, consumable way to all levels of management
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills
  • Alteryx experience
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (strong understanding of Excel, e.g., v-query, pivot tables, etc.)
