JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State's College of Engineering supports and encourages students in the pursuit of career-related experiences and career training prior to graduation. We are seeking a Part-Time Teaching Assistant for ENGR 297 in Fall 2023 and potentially Spring 2024, a non-required undergraduate course that will provide participants with training and best practices in employer engagement at recruiting events and personal career planning and decision-making.

Job Duties:

Holding office hours to share course information and mentor students seeking career assistance

Leading in-class discussions

Grading assignments

Assisting with coordinating speakers and interacting with industry guests

Other teaching related tasks

Requirements and qualifications:

Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies.

This is a part-time position, working Monday-Friday. The workload is expected to be between 7-15 hours per week with a starting rate of $12/hour. To be considered, candidates must submit a cover letter and resume. Preference will be given to applicants who have previous engineering internship experience and understand the mechanisms that Penn State provides to connect students to potential employers, but we encourage candidates from all backgrounds to apply.
