About Sr. Product Manager, Dealer Value Delivery & Vehicle Fulfillment:

Product managers are artists who create unconventional and forward-looking solutions for customers. To best serve the Vehicle Remarketing industry, which is highly sensitive to the economic environment, and has a high degree of physical presence along with ?paper/human? processing, we seek autonomous and norm disruptors who can operate in the ever-changing macro environment to help us shape the new world. This position will be under Deliver Value Delivery and Vehicle Fulfillment team and own a part of the value chain in the vehicle remarketing process, with constant opportunities to work on different parts of the lifecycle. Key example value streams are Customer/User Acquisition and Retention, Vehicle Journey (Intake, Auction, Post Sale Fulfillment), and Value Add Services such as transportation & insurance products. We strive to transform & harmonize the long-standing physical sale methods to a more speedy and high-visibility digital experience for buy/sell/service vehicles across dealerships and institutional customer segments. To serve our purpose well, Product roles must constantly pulse the customer behaviors & feedback, process performance, and business outcomes to work with tech partners on continuous product improvement. As a result, having the skill of adaptability, communication, and data decision-making skills will be critical to the position's success.

Role Responsibilities:

You will own a product value stream, such as Customer Acquisition & Retention or Post Sales Fulfillment, and be responsible for understanding key opportunities and developing roadmaps to deliver product value continuously. In the example of Post Sale Fulfillment domain, you will be responsible for transforming the overall vehicle journey after Won State - how to enable the fastest cycle time to get this vehicle to the buyer's hand in ready-to-sale condition while buyers have clear visibility and control on where the vehicle is, through developing and updating lien check & correction process, Title/Registration physical/digital transfer, or default speedy payment process.

We expect our Product Managers to understand customer needs, competitive landscapes, and trends to define product roadmaps that leverage technology and data to delight customers. You?ll own areas of very strategic importance that are pivotal to our business growth. You will think about the end-to-end customer journey across product and business units to ensure our customer?s experience is compelling, coherent, and consistent.

Product Managers can only be successful with stakeholders' and leadership?s buy-in and ensure the product direction are in sync with the overarching business direction. As a result, the ability to manage, collaborate, and communicate up and in parallel with key stakeholders is essential. Using data will be key for this position, from understanding user experience patterns to mining operational data. In this role, you will leverage your unique combination of business and technical knowledge to evaluate technical options and to represent business requirements to the technology organization.

This Product Manager will be paired with a group of incredible architect magicians, engineer ninjas, and CX design rainmakers; he/she is responsible for being the quarterback of the excellent tech team assembled to deliver unparallel solutions.

What You Will Be Doing:

This position will have Product Development responsibility for portions of OPENLANE digital footprint. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Define strategic direction for Vehicle Fulfillment solutions with business owners
  • Collaborate with business owners (Operation, Finance, and Sales) to execute a roadmap that meets objectives, drives tangible value delivery for growing the business, and creates experiences that reduce friction and add convenience for our users
  • Define metrics to assess success and failure of product features, while ensuring the team and stakeholders are aligned on goals
  • Leverage KPI to create a positive feedback loop to monitor and measure the success of launched features with continuous improvement. In addition, take qualitative insights from user research, as well as quantitative performance results to inform new developments.
  • Cultivate a deep understanding of the users - both our buyers and sellers as well as internal business stakeholders
  • Lead the Product Discovery process to assess current and future customer needs, perform market/industry research, and analyze broader technology trends to provide strategic direction for OPENLANE
  • Conduct ongoing competitive analysis of other sites, apps, and products to identify ways to improve the user experience continually
  • Set Go To Market strategy for the new product along with business and marketing partners
  • Help the leadership team understand latest growth numbers and trends, advising on what we need to do. This will include leading discussions, engaging in debate, and driving an opinionated group to reach a conclusion
What You Need to Be Successful:

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree (Advanced degree is a plus)
  • 5+ years of Product Management experience in the digital space (e-Commerce, SaaS solution, or marketplace; Automotive experience is a plus)
  • 3+ yers of independent ownership of a product domain and its development lifecycle (Ideation to GTM & Result Measurement)
  • Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills, ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases
  • Strong skills in developing great user experiences and validating products through customer feedback
Preferred:
  • Proven track record of delivering successful online products to market
  • Strong team builder proven track record of building teams that love to work together
  • Experiences of working with Segment customer data tracking instrumentation is a plus
  • Experience of working SQL and/or Python is a plus
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to speak the language of technology and business teams
  • Proactive, organized, focused, and can ruthlessly prioritize
  • Demonstrated ability to dive deep in understanding the product, our business, and the competitive landscape
  • Experience in managing customer-facing applications for both web and mobile
  • A deep understanding of software development in a team and a proven track record of shipping software quickly then iterating on the experience
  • Comfortable presenting to senior leadership with strong attention to detail, and the ability to see and explain the big picture
