What will you do?


  • Resolves product or service problems by clarifying the customer's complaint; determining the cause of the problem; selecting and explaining the best solution to solve the problem; expediting correction or adjustment; following up to ensure resolution.

  • Assist building automation engineers, using various operator workstations, servers, databases, digital interface units, and standard automation tools of the trade in troubleshooting software, hardware, field equipment failures via remote phone and computer support.

  • Assist building security staff, using various operator workstations, servers, databases, digital interface units, and standard security tools of the trade in troubleshooting software, hardware, field equipment failures via remote phone and computer support.

  • Responds to emergency and routine service calls to provide restoration of building automation systems operation and control with a minimum of downtime.

  • Promotes, builds, and maintains good relations with the customers; keeps manager informed of needs, work order ticket status, and actual or potential problems.

  • Provides technical guidance and support including set-up, check-out, operation, and troubleshooting complex building automation and control systems; verifies functional performance of systems.

  • Provides technical instruction and training to other personnel on basic theory, proper system operations, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting techniques, typical system failures, and corrections.

  • Knowledgeable with controls, sensing and actuating devices.

  • Provides recommendation on equipment/systems operation and modification for energy conservation, efficiency, and reliability.

  • Responsible for capturing and sharing best practices and lessons learned throughout business

  • Maintain product certifications

What qualifications will make you successful?



  • Experience, Exposure and Education that demonstrate a thorough knowledge of customer service.

  • Must have 2+ years of Building Automation System experience.

  • Knowledge of MS SQL databases, Windows servers and workstation operating systems.

  • Applicant must have strong communication & customer service skills to be able to interpret customer desires and preferences.

  • Technical skills to troubleshoot hardware and software system failures.

  • Interact with customers to provide and process information in response to inquiries, concerns and requests about products and services.

  • Product specific programming knowledge preferred: Vista, I/Net, Continuum, Ecostruxure for Buildings (EBO)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, including thorough knowledge of MS Project, Word, and Excel required

  • Knowledge of building automation solutions and components, including software and field devices.

  • Knowledge of access control, video management systems, IP cameras and related security devices used in commercial applications.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, flow charts, schematic, and control sequences, which may also involve various software languages and formats.

  • Ability to analyze complex control sequences and resulting operations, and to develop innovations that solve difficult technical problems.
