Job Description:

These positions are full-time, permanent, classified positions which are represented by a union.

The is recruiting for two Custodians for the Junction City, Oregon campus to provide a clean, healthy and therapeutic environment for the patients and staff by meeting agency cleanliness standards.

The shift for these positions is Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM with Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday off.

What will you do?
As a Custodian, you will perform the following duties:

Clean and disinfect all body substances, spills and/or accidents from patient areas which includes furniture, wheelchairs, lockers, washers, dryers, refrigerators, stoves, and other specialized equipment.

Clean-up and disinfect sewage and/or gray water due to spills or blockage.

Pick-up and deliver bio-hazard waste and sharps to designated secure storage area.

Disinfect patient wards when infectious disease outbreaks occur.

Sweep, dust, dust mop, and/or buff hard surfaces which includes floors, vents, pipes, and furniture.

Vacuum and spot clean carpets and remove trash and replace liners only in secure areas.

Remove and re-hang curtains and drapes and clean and polish metal fixtures, moldings, and surfaces.

Scrub, rinse and refinish floors; clean, shampoo and extract carpets and upholstered furniture.

Scrub and auto-scrub tile and concrete floors and sweep and wash steps and porches.

Clean and maintain custodial equipment.

Prep floors and walls for remodel and/or renovation projects.

What are we looking for?

Minimum Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Minimum 6 months of custodial experience that included operating equipment needed to perform custodial duties.

Ability to push/pull heavy custodial equipment (and lift up to 50 pounds), crouch, stoop, bend, stand and/or walk for extended periods of time (90% of work shift).

Requested Skills

Experience creating and maintaining a work environment that is respectful and accepting of diversity among team members and the people we serve.

Experience utilizing effective custodial organization skills.

Knowledge and skill operating commercial custodial equipment such as auto scrubber, carpet extractor, high and low speed buffers, no touch cleaning systems, and various types of commercial vacuums.

Effectively use technology and training to enhance performance and productivity.

Knowledge of proper use and dilution ratios of caustic cleaning chemical solutions.
