Primary Functions:
  • Assist the Director of Learning Center with administrative duties associated with the HEOP program
  • Coordinate students seeking academic support with tutoring, academic coaching, supplemental education
  • Maintain, collect, and report contact hours with students for State and institutional records
  • Offer workshops, seminars, presentations on academic success strategies
  • In collaboration with student affairs colleagues, develop programming to support academic success
  • Market and advertise academic support services offered by the Learning Center
  • Plans, directs, implements, and manages an instructional facility for self-paced and other alternatively delivered academic support
  • Supervises part-time staff to include: prioritizing and assigning work: conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff is trained; and, making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations
  • Compiles data and prepares related reports on facility usage, budgetary expenditures, and similar information
  • Trains tutors in tutoring techniques, learning styles, adult learning theory, on-line platforms utilized for tutor sessions and tutors students of different abilities
  • Provides information to faculty, instructors, staff, and students about academic support services
  • Assists in the preparation of center budget by preparing cost estimates and recommendations of purchases
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Higher Education or applicable degree program
  • Minimum of three years work experience in Higher Education within a supportive learning environment
  • Experience working with a diverse and/or high risk student population
  • Previous management experience
