Penn State Health is seeking a compassionate patient-focused Patient Care Assistant (PCA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our collaborative team of professionals

JOB SUMMARY:

The PCA is an essential member of the health care team responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care. The PCA maintains an awareness of their patient population needs and scheduling requirements, provide ongoing communication with nursing staff for assigned patients, and prioritize patient care in conjunction with other team members consistently. Our PCA?s play a crucial part in assisting the team in meeting patient and family goals. Supervision and direction is provided by the Registered Nurse.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):

Three (3) months of patient care related experience preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Able to stand constantly; walk frequently; sit occasionally.

Able to lift/carry 0-10 lbs frequently; 11-50 lbs occasionally.

Able to push /pull 0-20 lbs frequently; 21-75 lbs occasionally.

Able to climb occasionally; reach constantly.

Able to use hand for simple/firm grasping.
