Job description: ? Reporting to the College President, with a dotted line to the Vice-Presidents of Academic Affairs and Professional Affairs, the incumbent will:
? Manage the business and contractual relationship(s), including contracts, with external content development partners (ex. SilkWeb) as well as educational software vendors (ex. LMS, Panaopto, Examsoft, PointSolutions, video hosting platforms, Learning Tools Interoperability Standards or LTIs, etc.);
? Work with the Vice President/Dean of Academic Affairs and NECO faculty to design/build online course content and curriculum for online hybrid and international academic programs, as well as remote learning initiatives for current academic programs (OD, ASP, and AODP) (pedagogy, design, interface, curriculum, etc.);
? Work with the Vice President, Professional Affairs to design/build online courses/content for Continuing Education.
? Identify the optimum infrastructure to support online learning across the organization (LMS, video hosting, LTIs, etc.) and to ensure courses are readily accessible and reasonably independent of reliance on specific vendors and/or proprietary software;
? Design training modules and support/train faculty and students in the use of online course content and educational technologies;
? Oversee Compliance and Regulatory requirements for online learning (accreditation, ADA accessibility, credit hour limitations, state registration, etc.);
? Develop Educational Effectiveness strategies as it relates to the use of technology for teaching and learning (educational psychology as it relates to adult learners);
? Develop policies governing online learning and course content (with Curriculum Committee);
? Serve as Managing Director (development and ongoing support) of Hybrid OD program when introduced;
? Collaborate with IT to ensure the backend technical aspects/integration of online learning infrastructure (software and hardware) function within our broader IT environment;
? Oversee the design and development of the LMS (including templates, syllabi, etc.) for NECO's educational content to ensure consistency in design and interface across programs, regardless of whether courses are developed with a vendor (ex. SilkWeb) or by faculty independently;
? Advise faculty to re-think course design utilizing instructional technology and applying modern best practices;
? Advise leadership on the development and communication of best practices and academic policies for the use of instructional technologies;
? Interact/communicate with educational technology vendors to conduct demonstrations and improve the user experience;
? Provide dotted line support to Instructional Technology staff in IT

? Developing training materials for faculty
? Assisting faculty and students in their use of the products
? Advising the curriculum committee on best practices and setting guidelines for use
? Canvas Sub-Account Management including program use cases for content being developed (the various ways NECO intends to use this new content will determine the best way to install and configure these tools).
- Advanced degree (Masters or Ph.D.) in Instructional Design, Curriculum Development, or related discipline.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience in online education, including supervisory roles.
- Need knowledge of regulations: NECHE, ADA Accessibility, NC-SARA (interstate agreements for distance education, externships, internships) ACOE Regulations, MA Regulations -MADHE
- Prior experience w managing teams of instructional design and technology
- Implementation experience with third-party vendors such as Silkweb, Elsevier, etc. and with faculty members
- Experience with Canvas Learning Management System
- Experience in medical education helpful
- Ability to collaborate with faculty on curriculum development
- Strong knowledge of learning management systems (LMS), educational technologies, and emerging trends in online education.
- Deep understanding of accreditation standards, compliance requirements, and accessibility guidelines for online education.
- Experience building networks with external organizations supporting ongoing education and vision for the institution.
- Background in business strategy, marketing, or online program management.
- Familiarity with the specific needs of academic health campuses
- Ability to foster partnerships and collaborations in a complex organizational setting.
- Expertise in digital and hybrid education offerings, including stackable credentials and microcredentials.
Expected salary: $97000 per year
