Job Summary



East Tennessee State University, College of Nursing (CON) is seeking applicants with a DNP or Ph.D. in Nursing with APRN certification in family practice to join our Faculty. This is a 12-month, Tenured / Tenure Track position. Rank is commensurate with experience and qualifications. The position is based in Johnson City, TN, and may include face-to-face and online teaching.



A Center for Nursing Research supports faculty and student scholarship.



ETSU, serving over 14,500 students, is a research-intensive university. The College of Nursing is part of the Academic Health Sciences Center which includes Colleges of Medicine, Pharmacy, Public Health, and Clinical and Rehabilitative Health Sciences.

Required Qualifications

  • DNP or Ph.D. in Nursing (exceptional candidates completing their Ph.D. may be considered but must be awarded prior to the hire date).

  • Current National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner with a population focus on Family.

  • RN Licensure in the State of Tennessee or Compact State required by the date of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred greater than or equal to five years experience in higher education.
