Job description: Johns Hopkins Carey Business School is seeking reliable, patient, and professional Teaching Assistant (Quantitative Courses). The TA serves as classroom management support for faculty and students and is typically responsible for executing communications to students, answering questions from students, and grading assignments. The TA may also assist faculty by hosting tutoring sessions or office hours for students. Each TA position lasts between 8 and 11 weeks.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Administrative Tasks (50%)
- Support faculty in the LMS and other classroom applications.
- Attend weekly cadence meetings with faculty.
- Track and submit hours spent performing responsibilities weekly.
- Attend all necessary trainings and workshops.
- Assist with management of Zoom classroom (if applicable)
- Answer student questions regarding course content and LMS navigation.
- Grade assignments and provide feedback.
- Provide tutoring sessions or office hours (if requested)
- Monitor attendance and participation (if applicable)
- Excellent academic record.
- Exceptional writing and communication skills.
- Experience using online tutoring platforms such as Zoom, Skype, and Microsoft Teams.
- Ability to maintain a professional working relationship with students, staff, and faculty.
- Knowledge of MATLAB, R, Python, Excel SQL, Tableau (for Quantitative courses)
- Master's Degree in a related field.
- Some experience as a graduate student in the related area of support.
- Completion of the course with a B+ or higher grade.
- A range of experience with and knowledge of quantitative and finance tasks used in business (for Quantitative courses)
- Knowledge of teaching principles and tutoring strategies.

Starting Salary Range: Min $19.50 - Max $35.00 HRLY ($24,000 budgeted; Commensurate with experience)
