Job description: Overview

The TIME Clinic provides individualized math tutoring and enrichment for elementary students. Students in Grade K-6 receive one hour of tutoring once a week after school and during the summer. We are looking for a tutor who loves math and loves helping students learn.

Responsibilities

The tutor will use the Diagnostic Place Value, Fraction or Computation assessments available in the clinic to determine strengths and weaknesses of each student and develop a series of activities to help students master missing or weak mathematical skills. (Multiple games and/or activities are available in the clinic.)

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Must have prior experience teaching mathematics in an elementary classroom.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • BS or BA degree in education or related field.
  • Math endorsement and/or additional training using best practices in mathematics teaching.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Must have good interpersonal skills in working with reluctant learners.
  • Must have knowledge of teaching math using flexible strategies.
