ALL ABOUT THE JOB

We ask that this electrician meet the following requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Thorough understanding of the correct and safe operation of all manually operated and power-related tools and equipment, along with proper use of safety equipment/apparel
  • 3+ years of experience in the trade
  • Ability to teach and work with a diverse student population with varying skills and abilities
  • Effective communication of complex ideas and concepts to students
  • Ability to objectively evaluate and grade student performance against established standards as prescribed by Apex and accrediting entities
As an Electrical Trade Teacher with our human services nonprofit, your role is to instruct and inspire students in skilled trades. You work from one of two locations: 210 E. 43rd Street in New York or 2402 Queens Plaza South in Long Island City. Your responsibilities include teaching students in theory and hands-on training, prioritizing safety, and ensuring materials and tools are ready. You also evaluate student progress, maintain records, and uphold school rules. Your commitment to personal growth, maintaining licenses, and contributing to the school's success makes you an integral part of the team. You empower the next generation of electricians daily, leaving a lasting impact on their futures.
