For more than two decades, our has provided intensive, comprehensive, pre-college academic enrichment to middle and high school students enrolled in targeted D.C. public schools.



Job Overview



The Assistant Director & ICP Program Manager identifies, develops, and facilitates opportunities for outreach with local, regional, and national organizations; serves as the primary contact for general access/outreach-related inquiries; and maintains external partnership and relationships with key sponsors and organizations advocating for college/career readiness.



Work Interactions



Reporting to the Director of CMEA, the Assistant Director & ICP Program Manager supervises Program Coordinators, student interns, graduate students, and numerous volunteers.



They also instruct, tutor, and mentor; and complies with Protection of Minors requirements; organizes and advises parents; and collaborates with other University officials and external educational administrators.



Requirements and Qualifications


  • Bachelor?s degree ? preference for Master's degree or higher in social work, education or other related fields

  • At least 7 years of experience as a classroom teacher or counselor in administering educational programs that serve diverse, low-income communities; familiarity with both higher education and secondary-school educational environments; and a demonstrated commitment to educational opportunity

  • Strong skills in planning, organizing, and written and oral communication .

  • Exceptional leadership, program management, S

  • Self-aware and sensitive to others, a positive attitude in the face of challenges, and comfort with working with diverse socio-economic and ethnic communities

  • Proven track record in community building, mentoring, youth development and the ability to work effectively with children, parents, and neighborhood constituencies

  • Facility with technology and data analysis

  • Successful completion of post-office District of Columbia police background clearance
