Position: Situated in the beautiful Finger Lakes region of NY, The Ithaca College School of Music, Theatre and Dance invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor of Music Education position to begin August 16, 2024. The successful candidate will teach assigned courses in the following areas: instrumental music methods, secondary instrument classes, and mentoring/supervising student teachers. Other duties may include teaching music education courses based on candidate expertise or program needs. The successful candidate will have a broad understanding of diverse musicianship and be familiar with contemporary issues related to teaching and learning music in diverse and inclusive public-school and community contexts. Qualifications: Doctorate in music education or a closely related field; candidates who would be ABD by August 2024 will be considered. A minimum of three years of successful teaching and conducting experience in instrumental music at the PK-12 level is required with additional experience at the collegiate level preferred. Experience with brass and/or percussion instrumental methods coursework is preferred.

Hiring Range: $60,100 - $79,950, dependent on discipline, qualifications and experience.
