We are seeking a Family Coach (Human Services Case Manager) to join The Dalles/Union St. Self Sufficiency Program team.

What you need to qualify /Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor?s degree in a Behavioral Science, Social Science, or a closely related field.
OR
A bachelor?s degree in any field and one year of human services related experience (i.e., work providing assistance to individuals and groups with issues such as economically disadvantaged, employment, abuse and neglect, substance abuse, aging, disabilities, prevention, health, cultural competencies, inadequate housing);
OR
An associate degree in a Behavioral Science, Social Science or a closely related field AND two years of human services related experience (i.e., work providing assistance to individuals and groups with issues such as economically disadvantaged, employment, abuse and neglect, substance abuse, aging, disabilities, prevention, health, cultural competencies, inadequate housing);
OR
Three years of human services related experience (i.e., work providing assistance to individuals and groups with issues such as economically disadvantaged, employment, abuse and neglect, substance abuse, aging, disabilities, prevention, health, cultural competencies, inadequate housing).

Your duties at a glance,
The ODHS Self-Sufficiency Program oversees food benefits (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), cash for families (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families), childcare assistance, Medicaid or medical services, refugee services and domestic violence services.
As a Family Coach you will:
Provide person-centered, strength-based practice to assist families transitioning into a state of independence through collaboration and partnership within the agency and the community.
Engage families in many different ways these include but are not limited to: individual and family assessment; identification of goals that are attainable and provide a glide path off state assistance; identification of individual and family strengths; collaboration with other state agencies, and collaboration with community organizations and resources.
Negotiates coaching contracts with the adults in the home; utilizing the continuum of Jobs activities, supporting both the adults needs as well as the family's needs to attain the goal of employment.
Evaluate employability readiness, provide meaningful provider referrals, promote services and motivate the adult towards employment.
Provide culturally appropriate services where individuals are treated respectfully, compassionately and effectively in a manner that recognizes, affirms and values the worth of children, individuals, families and communities, protecting and preserving the dignity of each.
Working conditions
As an employee,
Your work schedule will be 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. No weekend or evening work required.
Your work is typically conducted in an office setting or in the community. There may be option for some hybrid work.
You may experience stressful situations that require quick decision making.
On rare occasions you may interact with people who have experience trauma and may have challenges in controlling their emotions?
