This position's employment will be contingent upon obtaining continuous funding for said position.
Olympic College is seeking to hire a full-time exempt Promise Program Coach. The Promise Program Coach position serves as part of the Promise Program team and provides transitional support for students receiving the OC Promise scholarship and engaging in the Promise Program. This position is responsible for the support, mentorship, and retention of OC Promise students. The position will provide one-on-one guidance, as well as group support to OC Promise students throughout their Olympic College experience.
Essential Functions
- Provide case management and retention support to OC Promise students:
- Meet individually with students on a quarterly and as needed basis to support them in setting goals, overcoming obstacles, and navigating college life.
- Provide guidance on enrollment steps and monitor student progress on completion of these steps.
- Collaborate with other departments on campus like the Resource Center, Advising, and Multicultural to provide students with holistic support.
- Track students' quarterly outcomes and monitor their progress through college.
- Facilitate services, workshops, and other extracurricular programming for OC Promise students:
- Coordinate with various departments on campus to provide meaningful workshops to OC Promise students.
- Facilitate cohort meetings on college skills.
- Coordinate and facilitate camaraderie building and morale boosting opportunities such as game nights, end of quarter celebrations, and social events to engage OC Promise students.
- Update and maintain Canvas shell for each cohort year.
- Track students and manage groups in ctcLink.
- Utilize MS Office Suite to maintain records and develop materials.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience in education, counseling, human services, or another related field.
- Two years of experience providing mentorship, case management, and student development to young people transitioning from high school to college.
- Experience with working with students of diverse cultural, racial, ethnic, and religious backgrounds, and those of various gender identities and/or sexual orientations.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite.
- Experience using technology tools like ctcLink (SIS) and Canvas (LMS).
- Experience facilitating workshops and developing college readiness lessons.
- Familiarity with the student lifecycle and track record of providing just-in time support.
Terms of Employment
This is a full-time exempt position scheduled to work Monday through Friday. The salary range for this position is $52,744 - $56,699 annually, which includes a generous benefits package that includes the following.
