The global Pharma Technical Operations (PT) organization has the mission of empowering the use of Advanced Analytics to drive its business decisions as a core part of the strategy. Advanced Analytics is going to be one of the key digital technologies and accelerating factors that support the deployment of our PT performance promises, such as Fast to Patient, Robust Processes and Efficient Processes. Job Summary: The Senior Director/Executive Director, Global Data Analytics will be accountable for establishing the PT best in class Advanced Analytics hub by shaping its strategy and attracting, coaching and developing highly talented professionals leading the process from data ingestion over data insights to scalable, process-integrated Digital products. She/he will create the organizational and technical foundations for the development and deployment of the most advanced Data ML/Analytics Models and a successful scaling across several application areas (Process Variability and Asset Performance, Cycle Time, Yield, Launch acceleration...) and various PT functions (Development, Manufacturing, Quality...). The leadership role serves as a visionary, architect, catalyst, and coach of the PT Advanced Analytics hub, and is accountable for co-creating an Advanced Analytics deployment, technology and investment roadmap that?s integrated into PT?s overall digital and operational excellence strategy. The position partners closely with all PTx functions (incl. manufacturing, development, quality, regulatory, supply chain), group finance and informatics to embed Advanced Analytics into business value creation and to prioritize initiatives/use cases based on an ROI benchmarking. To make your core mission successful, you will be collaborating closely with the digital data backbone team and will be leveraging data strategy, governance, quality and data engineering automation to streamline data insights generation. Roles and Responsibilities Analytics Strategy Understand PT business challenges and priorities and translate them into value-creating Advanced Analytics activities and new business opportunities to achieve strategic business goals Act as a trusted advocate for the use of Advanced Analytics in different functions within the PT Network and educate Senior Management on the power of Advanced Analytics as strategic digital asset Influence, collaborate and drive alignment with key interfaces across Roche and the entire PT community, including sites and global functions, PTx functional data domain leads, integrated Informatics, and external partners Establish Advanced Analytics priorities and articulate them in strategic roadmap Architect and Catalyze Analytics Hub Build a hub for Advanced Analytics by recruiting and developing highly talented analytics professionals, such as Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers, Data Engineers, Data Architects, UI/UX Designers and Engineers Define and implement consistent roles and responsibilities, ensure clear accountability and define performance indicators Define and architect a streamlined data insights generation process/ governance to catalyst the hub?s capabilities and minmise efforts Partner closely with group informatics and digital data backbone team to co-create/co-select appropriate ML Platforms, Data Platforms & platform capabilities like metadata management, lineage, data quality etc. offering streamlined data architecture, data engineering, develops and data modeling process, from data source to data consumption Be accountable for the development and the deployment of Advanced Analytics Models into Digital Products, from data ingestion over data insights generation to process-integrated Digital Products Be highly innovative and keep track of most recent Advanced Analytics technologies to articulate them into business value potentials Role-model result orientation, willingness to commit to a direction and drive operations to completion People Management and Development Identify, attract and recruit diverse talent for both technical and non-technical jobs Develop people and skills through coaching, mentoring, and on-the-job teaching Build a team culture of trust, respect and cooperation Competencies and Qualifications Successfully architected, built and scaled digital products across functions and geographies Successfully managed cross-functional stakeholder relationships in a complex organization Demonstrated technical and scientific proficiency in Advanced Analytics (mainly data science and data engineering), experience with Analytics cloud Platforms is a strong plus Strong innovative mindset and ability to identify business potential of breakthrough technologies Highest personal and professional integrity and strong work ethics Strong business acumen Excellent people leadership capabilities with demonstrated skill in building, guiding and inspiring effective teams and fostering productive collaborations Outstanding communication, influencing and partnering skills 20+ years? work experience in the pharmaceutical or related industry Degree in Life Sciences, Computer Science, Informatics, Statistics, or related field with a minimum of 10 years related global working experience Extensive experience working in or supporting pharmaceutical or biologics manufacturing operations is highly desirable The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Oceanside CA is $168,000 - $312,000. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
