IT Job Description: We are seeking a New York, NY based Lead Developer to join the Institutional Services Technology team. Describe the role: The Research Sales Technology Team supports the Global Research & Sales activities of the Institutional Sell Side Research business for both Bernstein and Autonomous. Key activities are to contribute and lead the ongoing development initiatives within Research Sales Technology on applications such as Revenue Management, Sales enablement, and workflow automation. The Lead Developer will be responsible for proposing and implementing improvements to these applications, and will work with Sales, Client Strategy and Management teams to understand business case and deliver effective solutions. The role requires hands-on development and help direct all phases of the software development lifecycle using agile best practices while adhering to corporate standards. The key job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Design and implement business applications such as Revenue Management, Sales Enablement, and workflow automation. Co-ordinate and prioritize development activities across global teams using Agile best practices. Comply with development best practices including source code control, defect tracking, while adhering to firmwide SDLC policies. Support, maintain, and document application functionality, software testing and quality assurance. Lead design, code reviews and project planning Track all ongoing projects and communicate their status in a timely manner to stakeholders. Maintain communication and respond to support requests. Work collaboratively with Global Teams based in US, Europe and APAC. Direct face to face involvement with senior business stakeholders on key initiatives. Job Qualifications (The ideal candidate should have the following): We are seeking a motivated Developer who is passionate about improving business outcomes through use of technology. The candidate should have the ability to write efficient, readable, and maintainable code using technologies such as JavaScript: React, Bootstrap, Server: C#, ASP.NET, MVC/Webform, Integration: WebServices, API Integration and SQL server databases. Experience working with cloud-based technologies is preferred but not mandatory. Candidates should have a solid knowledge of engineering practices such as source control and continuous integration. Qualifications, Experience, Education: The ideal candidate should have the following Qualifications, Experience, and Education: Bachelors or Master's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) field 7+ years of software development experience Experience with popular JS frameworks such as React, Angular, Bootstrap Experience in Microsoft .NET Application tech stack using C#, ASP.NET/Core, Webform/MVC Experience in WebServices, REST API integration Experience in writing SQL queries and stored procedures with complex joins and unions. Knowledge of databases and participate in data design/ modeling discussions. Python or another scripting language would be advantageous Experience working in Agile methodology using JIRA and Wiki. Experience working with global teams Experience working within financial services preferred. Skills: Strong inter-personal and communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues globally. Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to liaise with people at all levels, both technical and non-technical stakeholders. A focus on process efficiency Ability to document data models and data flows between systems. A desire to train and mentor teammates in new technology. In accordance with Section 8-107(32) as set forth in the New York City Human Rights Law, the minimum and maximum base annual salary for this role is as follows: Base Salary Range: $115,000 to $135,000 Actual base salaries may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors. Base salary is just one component of total compensation at AB, which may include, depending on eligibility, commissions, year-end incentive compensation, short- and long-term incentives and Department-specific awards.
