- What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Analyze physician/provider documentation to determine diagnoses and procedures
- Utilize encoder software for assigning diagnosis and procedure codes
- Communicate effectively with clinical staff and physicians regarding documentation
- Collaborate with Regional Shared Services to resolve billing and utilization issues
- Stay up-to-date on changes in coding and reimbursement guidelines
- What is Required (Qualifications):
- Completion of an AHIMA or AAPC-approved coding program, or Associate's degree in Health Information Management
- CCS, CPC, RHIT, or RHIA certification required
- Two years of acute care coding experience
- Current experience in Complex Outpatient or Inpatient coding
- Ability to use standard desktop and windows-based computer systems
- How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- 3-5 years of current Complex Outpatient or Inpatient coding experience
- Current experience with remote coding
