    What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
  • Manage daily functions of facility coding, including coding, abstracting, and provider communication
  • Evaluate and modify internal work processes to comply with regulatory standards while protecting patient privacy
  • Provide education and support to coding staff and address any coding barriers
  • Serve as a resource for data interpretation and coding inquiries from hospital staff
  • Collaborate on internal and external hospital projects related to the coding section
    What is Required (Qualifications):
  • Associate's Degree and 3-5 years of experience supervising staff and managing healthcare workflows
  • Must obtain one of the following certifications within 90 days: Certified Outpatient Coder, Certified Professional Coder, Registered Health Information Technician, or Registered Health Information Administrator
    How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
  • Experience in a pediatric healthcare setting
  • Strong knowledge of ICD-9-CM, ICD-10-CM, PCS, and CPT coding systems
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
