Description
The Teachers College has a full-time contract faculty position
available 2024-25. The faculty member assigned to this position
will assist in teaching and related programming activities in
American Sign Language ( ASL ), aid in collecting data for
departmental reports, providing program input and development, and
support our ASL lab.
Minimum Qualifications
A. Earned MA or MS degree from an accredited institution by date of
appointment.
B. Native or near-native fluency in ASL
Authorization to work in the US
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be
employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
A. Earned MA or MS degree from an accredited institution in
American Sign Language Studies, Deaf/Deaf Culture Studies, ASL
Linguistics, Special Education with training in ASL, or related
field
B. Earned doctoral degree in American Sign Language Studies,
Deaf/Deaf Culture Studies, ASL Linguistics, or related field.
C. ASLPI 4+ or better.
D. One year experience teaching ASL in the K-12, community,
college/university setting
E. Familiarity with Signing Naturally curriculum
F. Have a strong involvement in the Deaf community.
