BSA Analyst I

The position will perform CTR Exemption Reviews by conducting transaction analysis, internet research, negative news search, contact branch personnel for additional information, determining, based on account activity, if the account is transacting as expected for the entity type, etc. The position will also review and analyze customer information and activity compliance with global sanctions screening using an automated OFAC monitoring system and email notification from other banking personnel. The position will assist with anti-money laundering compliance initiatives by providing support to the BSA Manager. This is an entry level position.
How You Will Make An Impact
? Review for current and new CTR exemptions.
? Perform annual CTR exemption reviews as directed and in accordance with the department Procedures
? Conduct in-depth research into customer accounts, properly document findings and communicate with account officers requesting information to ascertain if activity is permissible by regulation on both OFAC and CTR exemptions reviews.
? Conducts investigations to appropriately resolve potential matches generated by the Bank?s OFAC screening software on both the customer and transaction level.
? Acts as point of contact for all escalations by the business lines related to OFAC matters.
? Review new accounts and/or customer profile updates, which are screened against Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) lists through the Bank?s OFAC systems.
? Thoroughly document findings in a manner that is clear and comprehensible to BSA supervisors/managers, internal auditors, and regulator examiners.
? Adheres to Bank policies and procedures and completes required training.
? Identifies and reports unusual activity to the UAR mailbox.
? Review information provided by the various lines of business for possible OFAC matches, as well as wire transfers to ascertain compliance requirements.
? Participate in all team meetings.
Who You Are
? High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent banking experience
? Bachelor?s Degree in Business, Finance or other related discipline or equivalent banking experience, preferred
? Industry certification preferred (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS)
? Minimum of 2 years banking experience, experience in Sanctions reviews and investigative experience
? Excellent analytical, oral, and written communication skills
? Able to communicate effectively with staff at all levels
? Must demonstrate strong research skills, with attention to details
? Must be well organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and manage deadlines
? Proactive and must be able to work independently
? Willing to attend continuing professional education in BSA/AML compliance
? Regular and reliable attendance
? Works cooperatively with others
Remote within Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Tennessee, and Texas.
