Lead Title Insurance Underwriter
Posted 2025-03-14? The UCC Insurance Manager will be responsible for operations related to the issuance of UCC title insurance products.
? The primary responsibility is to manage all facets of commercial search production to ensure efficient workflows, manage all cost(s) associated with production as well as to ensure the team(s) are hitting capacity and performance goals to better service the client.
? The manager will supervise all personnel, either personally or through subordinate supervisors, who are engaged in production functions and will be responsible for underwriting and risk controls related to the products issued and services offered.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: ? Complies with Company policies, procedures, regulatory requirements and completes mandatory company compliance training by assigned deadlines. ? At a minimum, the ability to work during scheduled or core business hours, Monday through Friday. ? Leverage current processes to establish scalable workflow and processes to establish and maintain appropriate service levels. ? Will oversee team engaged in preparation, analysis and review to issue preliminary reports, commitments, proformas, policies of title insurance and endorsements for UCC coverage to most effectively and efficiently close each transaction while established risk and underwriting tolerances. ? Establish productivity and quality targets, metrics and reporting to monitor and manage performance and create wider visibility as to results. ? Establish, implement, and enforce formalized underwriting processes and approval limits in concert with Supervisor and Enterprise Services Legal group. ? Evaluate title insurance underwriting risks on policies up to authority limit. Assist other underwriters in evaluating risks in excess of that amount. ? Adhere to bulletins and other directives regarding title insurance and other related matters. ? Counsel and advise associates regarding complicated title issues and assist in resolving those title issues. ? Establish qualitative feedback loop with Enterprise Services Legal team to inform and validate quality metrics ensuring appropriate risk and underwriting guidelines are met. ? Recruit, hire and develop talent to ensure the various production team(s) are equipped to deliver all products offered. ? Manage and monitor workload capacity and production within the team(s). ? Write materials to develop best practice workflows. ? Monitor all costs associated with production, including but not limited to vendor and employee costs. ? Maintain good relations with all levels of management and employees; be the escalation when needed for clients. ? Provide management support through regularly set conference calls, reporting and other means, as deemed necessary. ? Train and support management team to maintain relevant operational knowledge of all products. ? Communicate business changes and needs to assigned client(s), as deemed appropriate. ? Represent the company by attending social and business functions through personal involvement in service groups and business organizations. ? Respond to customer needs, requirements, and problems in accordance with and acts as an escalation between customer and operational centers. ? Complete as well as approve expense reports timely. ? Dependable, reliable and punctual attendance is required, which may include in-office attendance or attendance at company, industry or other events that occur outside regular business hours. ? Ability to accept supervision and direction, as well as constructive feedback. ? Demonstrates courtesy, flexibility, professionalism and is proactive and responsive to supervisor/manager, co-workers and customer needs and expectations. ? Other duties that may be assigned.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
? A minimum of 10 years of title insurance underwriting experience with commercial real estate transactions.
? At least 10 years of title insurance operational management experience.
? Ability to create effective and persuasive presentations.
? Basic computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
? Ability to work in fast paced environment while successfully performing under extreme time constraints and meets prescribed deadlines.
? Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills, with ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects.
? Ability to act independently with sound judgment and take initiative.
? Written and verbal communications are clear, grammatically correct and business appropriate.

? Repetitive and continual keyboard activity and interaction with display monitors is required.
? Local/daily travel by automobile and overnight business travel by air and/or automobile, may be required.

Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
