As a Controller, you will serve as the outsourced financial leader for multiple nonprofit clients, providing hands-on guidance in accounting and financial management. Skills
? A genuine passion for working with or supporting nonprofit organizations
? Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with multiple general ledger packages, especially QuickBooks
? Strong experience in public accounting, consulting, or nonprofit accounting is highly valued
? Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
? Ability to manage multiple clients, work independently, and meet deadlines in a timely manner

Responsibilities
? Serve as the Controller/CFO for multiple nonprofit clients, providing outsourced financial leadership and guidance
? Develop and present financial reports to management and boards, facilitating decision-making and strategy
? Recommend and implement improvements in accounting systems, internal controls, operations, and compliance, ensuring alignment with client goals
? Oversee transactional activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, reconciliations, month-end close, and maintaining workpapers
? Perform budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, offering valuable insights for clients
? Manage grant allocations, funder reporting, and other nonprofit-specific financial tasks
? Prepare clients for annual audits and ensure smooth audit management
? Provide training and support for both clients and staff to build stronger financial teams

Qualifications
? Bachelor?s degree required (preferably in Accounting or Finance)
? 5-7+ years of accounting experience, with a focus on nonprofit organizations preferred
? Experience working remotely is a plus
? CPA certification is a plus but not required
