Role Overview
We are seeking a meticulous and analytical Senior Commissions Accountant to take charge of the precise calculation, recording, and reconciliation of commission payments. This pivotal role will ensure adherence to commission agreements while offering financial insights on commission trends.
Key Responsibilities
? Accurately compute and process commission payments in alignment with individual broker agreements across various real estate service transactions.
? Manage commission disbursements for agents, ensuring timely and precise distribution of funds.
? Administer commission adjustments for scenarios such as refunds, co-broker splits, and unique agreements involving loans and draws.
? Maintain and continually update commission-related financial records and databases.
? Ensure thorough documentation for all commission calculations, adjustments, and payments, including proper filing for auditing purposes.
? Reconcile commission reports with brokerage transactions to guarantee accuracy.
? Uphold compliance with internal brokerage policies, contractual agreements, state regulations, and tax obligations.
? Prepare comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual commission reports for brokers and management.
? Collaborate with brokers to address commission inquiries and resolve any discrepancies.
? Work closely with the finance department and transaction coordinators to ensure seamless commission operations.
Required Skills
? Strong foundation in accounting principles and practices.
? Proficient in financial systems and commission calculation software.
? Advanced skills in Excel and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Workday, SAP, NetSuite, CoStar, REApps).
? Excellent analytical capabilities with a keen attention to detail.
? Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
? Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to manage extensive data sets accurately under tight deadlines.
Qualifications
? Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
? A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably with a focus on commission-based accounting or compensation management.
? Familiarity with incentive-based pay structures and tax guidelines.
? CPA or relevant accounting certifications are preferred.
