The Payroll/HR Associate position at Washington University in St. Louis is a full-time role focused on providing payroll support to various departments within the School of Arts and Sciences. The associate will work collaboratively with the team to ensure accurate payroll processing, maintain employee data, and assist with onboarding and compliance tasks. This role is essential for ensuring that payroll operations run smoothly and efficiently, while also supporting the HR functions of the school.
Responsibilities
? Enter and maintain all faculty, staff, and student Workday-HCM data for multiple assigned departments.

? Monitor and track relevant job data, contract data, and maintain leaves, breaks in service, and terminations.
,
? Post job openings and assist departments in managing searches in the search system of record.
,
? Oversee pay-cycles and meet all payroll deadlines for assigned departments.
,
? Review time and labor activities for each pay cycle to ensure accurate and timely employee payments.
,
? Process payroll cost transfers to resolve payroll allocation problems.
,
? Audit time reporting and ensure proper data entry for absence management and short-term disability.

? Coordinate with the Arts & Sciences Graduate School to ensure graduate students are processed accurately and timely.

? Work with the A&S Manager of HR and Payroll to cover workflow and tasks for cross-coverage as needed.

? Coordinate Federal Work Study funds for student workers in partnership with Students Financial Services.
Requirements
? High school diploma or equivalent high school certification.
,
? 3 years of experience in Human Resources, Personnel, and Payroll.
,
? Proficiency in Human Resources processes and Microsoft Office.
Nice-to-haves
? Bachelor's degree.

? 5 years of experience in Payroll.

? Skills in adaptability, confidentiality, deadline management, detail-oriented tasks, higher education administration, interpersonal communication, multitasking, oral communications, organizing, positive thinking, workload prioritization, and written communication.
