Sign on Bonus and Referral Bonus (if applicable) Job Summary Phillips 21 is seeking a Patient Care Associate (PCA), with Day and Night availability, to provide rotating weekend and holiday coverage. The General Medicine unit is a twenty-bed medical unit located in Boston, MA. The unit is committed to delivering high quality patient care that is focused on the unique, individualized needs of patients with a wide variety of acute medical illnesses and chronic diseases. The staff is highly regarded by physicians and other interdisciplinary colleagues for their clinical expertise in caring for patients at every point on the adult healthcare continuum by providing holistic, complex, and compassionate care. Only applicants seeking full-time employment will be strongly considered for this role. Qualifications What are we looking for? Assisting the healthcare team, the PCA promotes a safe and caring environment for patients under the mentorship of an RN. PCA assists patients with daily living needs, monitoring & reading vital signs, drawing blood, and obtaining EKGs. Responds to patient requests in a timely manner, safeguarding patient confidentiality, monitoring patient safety, and always communicating in a respectful manner. Effective customer service orientation and the ability to interact with diverse groups of patients, staff and providers. Demonstrated ability to solve basic patient and practice problems using a combination of strong interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail and superior organizational skills. Ability to lift and transport patients, using the appropriate physical technique, in a safe manner for the patient and self. Schedule Days (7am-7pm) and Nights (7pm-7am) Rotating weekends and holidays What do we have to offer? Preferred: Licensed, certified, or enrolled student in a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, Mental Health Technician, or EMT accredited program, at the time of hire, OR Candidate enrolled in a Nursing, Pre-Med, PA undergraduate program, with at least one semester of patient care rotations completed, at time of hire.
