About the position

The Verification Specialist Lead at Texas Health Resources is responsible for overseeing the insurance verification process, ensuring accurate and timely completion of patient insurance verifications, benefit package reviews, and documentation. This role emphasizes exceptional customer service, leadership, and collaboration within a supportive team environment, while also encouraging personal and professional growth.

Responsibilities
? Execute accurate and timely completion of estimates, patient insurance verification, and benefit package reviews.

? Update patient accounts with coverage, guarantor, benefit, and demographic information in the EMR system.

? Resolve issues with coverage and escalate complicated issues to the manager.
,
? Contact patients to confirm outstanding demographic or coverage information.
,
? Exhibit excellent customer service and maintain a courteous phone manner when communicating with patients.
,
? Review patient procedural information to verify timely completion of pre-authorization codes.
,
? Utilize tools to expedite and automate critical functions of patient account work.
,
? Maintain and own account volumes within EMR work queues, demonstrating organization and priority awareness.
,
? Manage communication to and from outside departments regarding patient accounts.
,
? Sustain consistent levels of account productivity and quality based on department needs.
,
? Participate in required employee trainings and assist leadership in follow-up on discrepancies.
,
? Serve as a subject matter expert, providing direction to less experienced staff.
,
? Assist with training, auditing of work, and providing feedback to Team Supervisors.

Requirements
? High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
,
? 3 years of experience in insurance verification, authorizations, and benefit estimates within a healthcare setting is required.
,
? Knowledge of third-party eligibility and clinical pre-authorization regulations and payer requirements.
,
? Detail-oriented with strong organization and communication skills.
,
? Proficient computer skills, including EMR system workflows and Microsoft Office Suite.
,
? Strong work ethic and professionalism.
,
? Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
