The Health Services Technician position at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona is responsible for the research and triage of records and documentation to ensure accurate and timely processing of requests. The role emphasizes member-first service, working collaboratively with team members, providers, and members to deliver high-quality health insurance services. Responsibilities
? Identify, research, process, resolve and respond to customer inquiries and correspondence via telephone, written communication and/or in person.

? Answer a diverse and high volume of health insurance customer calls or correspondence daily.

? Maintain complete and accurate records per department policy and ensure HIPAA compliance.

? Meet quality, quantity and timeliness standards to achieve individual and departmental performance goals.

? Explain to customers a variety of information concerning the organization's services, including contract benefits, changes in coverage, eligibility, claims, and provider networks.

? Consult and coordinate with various internal departments, external plans, providers, businesses, and government agencies to obtain information and ensure resolution of customer inquiries.

? Research, gather and conduct preliminary analysis of data for department and corporate reporting.

? Assist in the development of procedures and desk levels for assigned processes, as needed.

? Maintain effective communication with internal and external customers.

? Work effectively and collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.
Requirements
? 1 year of experience in healthcare, health insurance, or related customer service for Level 1; 3 years for Level 2; 5 years for Level 3.

? High School Diploma or GED in the general field of study (All Levels).

? Intermediate skill in use of office equipment including copier, fax machine, scanner, and telephones.

? Intermediate PC proficiency and skill in word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
Nice-to-haves
? 2 years of experience in healthcare, health insurance, or related customer service for Level 1; 4 years for Level 2; 6 years for Level 3.

? Associate's Degree in the general field of study.

? Intermediate understanding of medical terminology and comprehension of anatomy and medical practices.
