Small Business Sales Representative

The primary focus for this position will be on developing new and existing broker relationships to increase sales of groups in the 2-300 market. New sales is the primary focus of this position.
The candidate will need to reside in the greater Tidewater region focused on the Eastern VA market.
Essential Functions:
? Proactively generate new business through existing and new broker/general agency/ consultant house relationships.
? Cold call direct to small businesses.
? Researches, develops and maintains favorable relationships with new and existing broker/general agency/consultant houses stakeholders.
? Interacts in person with existing broker/general agency/consultant stakeholders to increase sales of DDVA products.
? Provides input and oversees preparation of proposals for key groups.
? Makes presentations and educate key broker/general agency/consultant stakeholders.
? Monitors competitor products, sales and marketing activities.
? Maintains a consistent corporate image throughout products, promotional materials, and events.
? Follow up on sales leads and developing leads.
? Maintain understanding of industry trends that effect target markets.
Qualifications/Education/Experience:
? Bachelor?s Degree or combination of equivalent experience.
? Effective organizational and time management skills.
? Minimum of three years sales experience, with dental and/or health insurance related field preferred.
? Demonstrated sales and marketing techniques.
? Effective ability to communicate verbally or in written form effectively with internal and external customers.
? Demonstrated ability to anticipate and solve practical problems or resolve issues.
? Ability to work independently and collaboratively as well as use sound judgment to make decisions.
? Candidate must excel in building and nurturing strategic broker/consultant/general agency relationships to maximize revenue production.
? Must be self-motivated and disciplined with a strong work ethic.
? Demonstrated experience of getting results through others.
? Ability to think and plan strategically for organizational success.
? Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

? Work environment: The work is limited to the office environment with occasional trips to other office facilities or locations necessitating walking outdoors or driving. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.
