The Certified Medical Assistant position at Health First Medical Group LLC is a vital role that focuses on providing comprehensive patient care during office visits. The role requires a commitment to following safety protocols and adhering to office policies, including compliance with OSHA standards and HIPAA regulations. In this position, the Medical Assistant will be responsible for accurately preparing and performing point-of-care testing, such as urine dipstick and blood glucose tests. They will conduct clinical intakes, which involve taking vital signs, gathering medical and surgical histories, and verifying current medications. The Medical Assistant will also transcribe and enter written orders into the electronic medical record system, ensuring that all documentation is complete and accurate. The role includes preparing and administering medications as directed by the provider, following the ?6 Rights? of Medication Administration, and ensuring that controlled substances and allergy doses are verified by a licensed professional. Additionally, the Medical Assistant will assist in stocking and ordering medical supplies, coordinating with the site manager to maintain equipment and supplies. Communication is a key aspect of this role, as the Medical Assistant will track and relay lab and diagnostic study results to patients, ensuring they are informed of their health status. They will also be responsible for maintaining patient flow, discussing urgency with the physician, and providing coverage in other areas of the medical group as needed. The Medical Assistant will act as a liaison between support services and clinical divisions, ensuring that all customer interactions are handled with respect and professionalism.
Responsibilities
? Accurately prepares and performs point of care testing such as urine dipstick and blood glucose tests.

? Conducts clinical intake including vital signs, medical history, surgical history, social history, and verification of current medications.

? Transcribes and enters written orders in the patient electronic medical record.

? Prepares and administers medications as directed by the provider, ensuring adherence to the '6 Rights' of Medication Administration.

? Assists in stocking and ordering medical supplies and maintaining equipment, coordinating with the site manager.

? Prepares patients for examination, ensuring pre-work is available for the provider, including notes and diagnostic test results.

? Tracks and communicates lab and diagnostic study results to patients as directed by the provider.

? Follows safety processes and policies, including infection prevention procedures and maintaining a clean environment.

? Maintains patient flow after check-in and discusses patient urgency with the physician.

? Provides coverage in other areas of the medical group as needed, including patient registration and appointment scheduling.

? Acts as a liaison between support services and clinical divisions, ensuring effective communication.
Requirements
? High School diploma or GED equivalent.

? Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited program.
,
? Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider Completion Card.

? Ability to pass colorblind testing for performing POC tests requiring color change.

? Strong customer service skills, including knowledge of service recovery techniques.

? Familiarity with medical terminology.
