The Release Train Engineering Senior Manager position at Cigna-Evernorth Services, Inc. is a pivotal role within the organization, focusing on leading and managing Agile Release Trains (ARTs) to ensure successful delivery of software and services. This position is classified as a Band 4 Senior Contributor Career Track Role, emphasizing the importance of leadership and strategic oversight in Agile project management. The Senior Manager will be responsible for guiding scrum masters within the ART, fostering their career growth, and ensuring that commitments made during planning sessions are met. This includes actively managing dependencies both within the ART and across other ARTs to facilitate smooth project execution. In this role, the Senior Manager will ensure that working software is consistently delivered to production, participating in architecture and design discussions to align technical solutions with business needs. A deep understanding of Client Onboarding business practices and the technical infrastructure supporting these processes is essential. The Senior Manager will coordinate delivery across multiple Agile teams, ensuring they adhere to a common delivery cadence, and will manage the flow of value through the program using various tools and techniques. Coaching and developing leaders, teams, and ART stakeholders on lean-agile practices is a key responsibility, as is utilizing ART maturity metrics to create and lead an ART maturation plan. The Senior Manager will also play a crucial role in preparing for Program Increment (PI) planning, ensuring readiness by preparing vision and backlogs, and facilitating PI Planning sessions in collaboration with the Solution Train. This includes aggregating team PI objectives into Program PI objectives and maintaining transparency regarding progress. The role requires the escalation of impediments and risks that could hinder the timely delivery of commitments, along with reporting on progress against milestones. Continuous improvement is a core focus, with the Senior Manager driving initiatives through coaching and facilitating Inspect and Adapt ceremonies. Additionally, the Senior Manager will partner with stakeholders to deliver valuable system and solution demos, ensuring alignment across ART leaders and stakeholders on priorities and direction.
Responsibilities

? Directly coach and develop leaders, teams, and ART stakeholders on lean-agile practices and behaviors.

? Utilize ART maturity metrics and assessments to develop and lead an ART maturation plan.

? Participate in PI planning readiness - preparation of vision and backlogs via pre & post planning.

? Ensure PI Planning readiness for the ART and facilitate PI Planning in conjunction with the Solution Train.

? Aggregate team PI objectives into Program PI objectives and create transparency into progress.

? Escalate impediments and risks that may contribute to delays or missed delivery of commitments.

? Report on progress against milestones and support activities related to Program Portfolio Management and Release Management.

Requirements
? Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or a closely related field and 5 years of experience in any IT role, or a master's degree in Computer Science, Business, or a closely related field and 2 years of experience in any IT role.

? At least two years of qualifying experience must include: Jira; Agile modeling (SCRUM, XP, Kanban, and SAFe); and project management tools such as Confluence and Microsoft Office Suite.
