Specifically, we are seeking a faculty member whose scholarly profile aligns with LSU?s goal to expand expertise and funding in the areas of biomedical/health of the LSU Pentagon plan (https://www.lsu.edu/strategic-framework/index.php). The candidate will be committed to scholarly productivity, grant writing, teaching excellence, and service. The appointment will be effective August 2025. Candidates who can demonstrate an ability to collaborate within the School of Kinesiology and across campus are strongly encouraged to apply. Job Responsibilities: 100%-(1) Develop, or continue, a fundable research program; (2) actively seek and maintain external funding support for scholarly activities through NIH, NSF, USDA, and other external sources; (3) develop and teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in pharmacology, endocrinology, and/or molecular physiology; (4) provide advisement to graduate students, and direct theses and dissertations; (5) provide service to the School, College, University, and Profession-based committees as appropriate. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in Kinesiology, Pharmacology or a related field earned before employment. Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with post-doctoral experience. The candidate is expected to have strong expertise and a track-record of success as it relates to one or more of the following topical areas: 1) understanding and implementation of clinical and/or randomized control trials related to pharmacological and nutritional supplemental interventions to improve exercise responses for health or disease, 2) characterization of endocrine responses to exercise in health and disease, 3) the influential effects of hormones on tissue and cellular function to improve exercise responses for health or disease.
