About the position

The Software Engineering Senior Advisor - Mobile Developer at Cigna is a technical leadership role within the Evernorth Consumer group, focusing on mobile software engineering. The position requires a breadth of knowledge in computer science, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to learning. The advisor will drive the adoption of software engineering best practices and innovative product introductions while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to build solutions in the mobile space.

Responsibilities
? Deliver business needs end-to-end from requirements to development into production.

? Code for backend, middleware, and front-end applications through a hands-on engineering approach.
,
? Map user stories to detailed technical specifications, automate test cases, triage bugs, and optimize infrastructure.
,
? Follow mobile software engineering best practices with an automation-first approach and continuous improvement mindset.
,
? Drive reuse, engage in peer code reviews, and foster innovation.
,
? Ensure adherence to enterprise architecture direction and architectural standards.
,
? Collaborate in a high-performing team environment, influencing and being influenced by others.

Requirements
? At least 5 years of experience in mobile software engineering.
,
? Strong experience with React, React Native, and JavaScript.
,
? Experience with development in at least one modern native mobile OS language including Swift and Kotlin.
,
? Experience with legacy native mobile OS languages including Objective-C and Java is a plus.
,
? Experience building and using pipelines with mobile CI/CD tools such as Bitrise or Microsoft AppCenter is a huge plus.
,
? Experience with migrations from native mobile to React Native mobile platforms is preferred.
,
? Strong expertise with Git.
,
? Experience with microservices and cloud native frameworks.
,
? Experience creating and consuming REST APIs.
,
? Proficient in self-testing of applications, unit testing, and use of mock frameworks, test-driven development (TDD).

? Experience in building a software 'product' which will be transitioned to others for support and further evolution.
