The Community Engagement Housing Specialist will perform outreach duties to promote programs and resources to homeless individuals in the community. This role involves encouraging homeless individuals to participate in the Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program, which enables them to obtain housing and remain stable. The position requires effective communication skills and the ability to develop inter-agency relationships to enhance referral processes.
Responsibilities
? Provide outreach support for SSVF Program and case management teams.

? Coordinate client outreach and landlord recruitment efforts for SSVF Program.

? Develop inter-agency relationships to enhance the referral processes.

? Serve as liaison with local landlords, community organizations, and other potential agency resources.
,
? Facilitate outreach activities including presentations to service providers and potential landlords.
,
? Attend public meetings and presentations to explain the SSVF program.
,
? Facilitate coordination of services with community partners.
,
? Maintain and update knowledge through conferences, seminars, and in-service trainings.
,
? Establish an outreach plan to target participants as outlined in the SSVF program guidelines.

? Work with persons served, family members, and collaborating housing agencies.
,
? Travel to housing sites to engage landlords and property managers.
,
? Communicate effectively with clients and service teams regarding SSVF program services.
,
? Ensure participant category reassessments are completed according to SSVF requirements.

? Participate in program and professional supervision and team meetings.
,
? Complete all appropriate reporting for SSVF goals and targeting.

? Complete other duties as needed and requested.
Requirements
? A High School Diploma or GED with previous work experience is required.
,
? A minimum of 2 years experience working with homeless individuals and families including veterans is preferred.

? Veteran or member of a veteran family is a plus.
,
? Valid driver's license in jurisdiction of residence.
,
? Acceptable Criminal background check, OIG Exclusion check.
,
? Negative Drug Screening.
,
? CPR/First Aid Certification must be acquired and maintained once employed.
