Candidates must hold a nationally recognized HCCP or SHCM certification or be eligible to obtain the certification within six months of employment and have at least two years of experience in the affordable housing industry.
Affordable Housing Compliance Asset Specialists are responsible for completing and delivering property site inspections for syndicators, lenders, developers, and management companies within the LIHTC industry. They also assist with file reviews in preparation for audits, approve ?first occupant files,? and ensure compliance with applicable affordable housing programs. Affordable Housing Compliance Asset Specialist must stay up to date with changes to affordable housing regulations and assist in distributing this information to clients. Additionally, they play a key role in promoting company growth, client retention, and fostering company culture, purpose, and vision.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To successfully perform this job, an individual must be able to effectively perform each essential duty. The qualifications listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities required: ? Certification: HCCP or SHCM certification is required, or the candidate must be eligible to obtain the certification within six months of employment. ? Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in the affordable housing industry. ? Program Knowledge: Thorough understanding of LIHTC, BOND, HOME, and other affordable housing programs. Knowledge of HUD is a plus. ? Travel Requirements: Availability to travel 35% to 50% of the time, both within and outside of the state of residence. ? Technical Skills: Extensive experience with all aspects of Microsoft Office is required. ? Telecommuting: This is a telecommuting-only position, and the ability to work remotely is essential.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The following list outlines the primary duties associated with the role. It should not be construed as an exhaustive list of responsibilities, functions, or tasks. The role may require additional responsibilities or tasks.
1. Stay Informed on Affordable Housing Programs: Keep up to date with updates and changes in affordable housing programs and regulations. Assist with distributing this information to key property operations staff, including providing necessary explanations of how these changes may impact operations.
2. Master File Management: Oversee the creation, maintenance, and organization of master files for each property, ensuring all documents necessary for monitoring compliance are in place, as set by the President.
3. Compliance Policy Oversight: Manage and ensure adherence to Preferred Compliance Solutions' policies, procedures, and processes for compliance.
4. Certification Tracking: Ensure all required certifications are completed and submitted on or before their respective due dates.
5. Report and Documentation Review: Review monthly and annual reports, as well as any other required submissions to regulatory agencies, ensuring compliance and submission at least three days prior to deadlines.
6. Advocacy and Representation: Advocate for affordable housing and represent Preferred Compliance Solutions in a positive and professional manner at local, regional, and national events, including meetings, conferences, and industry discussions.
7. Work Plan Development: Prepare and implement a monthly work plan that aligns with the department's Strategic Plan.
8. Systems and Process Implementation: Develop and implement in-house systems and processes for development, asset management, and property management, ensuring consistent compliance across all areas.
9. Site Inspection Coordination: Assist with or take responsibility for the scheduling, completion, and delivery of site inspections, as directed by the supervisor.
10. Data and Communication Accuracy: Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of data, memos, newsletters, and any other communications sent from Preferred Compliance Solutions.
11. Travel Requirements: Travel 35% to 50% of the time, both within and outside of the state of residence.

? This position is eligible for a flexible schedule, subject to company policies and supervisor approval.

? This is a telecommuting-only position. As a condition of employment, the employee must sign a Telecommuting Agreement, unless otherwise agreed in writing. The employer will provide, within reason, the office equipment necessary to perform the duties of this role. Employees are responsible for maintaining a secure and functional workspace and ensuring compliance with the terms outlined in the Telecommuting Agreement.
