Summary :
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Construction Defect Claim Supervisor to join our remote team. This position supervises a team of up to six Construction Defect Claim Specialists, overseeing their performance in the investigation and adjustment of assigned construction defect claims for a Singel Dedicated Account. The Construction Defect Claim Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the quality of claim services as perceived by CCMSI clients and maintaining our corporate claim standards.
This remote position offers the flexibility to work from home while maintaining core hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday. If you are a dedicated professional with a passion for construction defect claims management and team leadership, we encourage you to apply.
Responsibilities:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
Key Responsibilities: ? Team Supervision: Lead and mentor a team of up to six Construction Defect Claim Specialists, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional development. ? Claims Management: Oversee the entire claims process from initial investigation through resolution, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations. ? Defect Investigation: Conduct thorough investigations of construction defects, including document reviews, and interviews with relevant parties. ? Client Interaction: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and other stakeholders, addressing concerns and providing updates on claim status. ? Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of claim investigations, correspondence, and resolutions. Prepare comprehensive reports and summaries for internal and external stakeholders. ? Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all claims are handled in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements, staying current with industry standards and best practices. ? Risk Assessment: Evaluate the potential impact of defects on projects, recommending risk mitigation strategies and corrective actions. ? Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality of claim services meets corporate standards and client expectations.
Additional Responsibilities: ? Review, assign and provide supervision of all claim activity for designated Construction Defect claims to ensure compliance with Corporate Claim Standards, client specific handling instructions and in accordance with applicable laws. ? Determine if adjuster analysis of complex Construction Defect coverage claims and prepared coverage letters is correct and accurate; including reservation of rights, and disclaimer of coverage. The product has many manuscript endorsements that require a strong attention to detail. ? The candidate will need to understand to a high degree residential and commercial building construction, repair processes, and how to analyze the accuracy of damage reports prepared by contractors, engineers, and appraisers. ? Manage complex litigated files working with the adjuster, defense counsel, and the client. ? A strong knowledge of resolution techniques such as high low agreements, proposals for settlement, offers of judgement, declaratory judgements, and litigation management. ? Review reserve establishment and/or oversight of reserves for designated Construction Defect claims within established reserve authority levels. ? Authorize and make payments of claims in accordance with claim procedures utilizing a claim payment program in accordance with industry standards and within established payment authority. ? Guide adjusters in negotiating settlements in accordance within Corporate Claim Standards, client specific handling instructions and state laws, when appropriate. ? Assist in the selection, referral and supervision of designated Construction Defect files sent to outside vendors. (i.e. legal counsel, expert witnesses, etc.) ? Review and maintain personal diary on claim system. ? Responsible for client satisfaction. ? Supervision of all Construction Defect claim activity for specified accounts. ? Attend account Meetings, conduct file review meetings and/or training sessions with clients, as requested. ? Performance appraisals and objective/goal setting and attainment of claim staff. ? Develop revise and implement workflow processes to ensure efficiencies and provide oversight of individual caseloads, as appropriate. ? Compliance with Corporate Claim Handling Standards and special client handling instructions as established. ? Performs other duties as assigned. ? Maintain required state licensing and continuing education.

Construction Expertise: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in construction defect, with a deep understanding of construction practices, materials, and defect issues. ? Claims Experience: Proven experience (3-5 years) in managing construction defect claims or similar insurance claims, including knowledge of claims processing, investigation techniques, and resolution strategies. ? Leadership Skills: Strong supervisory and team leadership skills, with a track record of managing and developing a team of professionals. ? Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of effectively interacting with clients, contractors, and legal representatives. ? Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and a methodical approach to investigations. ? Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in claims management software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite. Preferred Qualifications: ? Legal Knowledge: Familiarity with construction law and litigation processes related to construction defects. ? Negotiation Skills: Experience in negotiating settlements and resolving disputes. ? Project Management: Project management experience, with the ability to manage multiple claims and projects simultaneously. Additional Attributes: ? Education and/or Experience
? 5-7 years Construction Defect claim experience or General Liabilty claims with extensive property damage / defect experience is required.
? Bachelors Degree is preferred (Bachelors degree in construction management, civil engineering, architecture, or a related field are a plus)
? CPCU, AIC, LEED or ARM certifications are a plus.
? Three years Supervision/Management experience preferred.
Computer Skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office programs.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
FL or TX adjuster's license required.
