The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Acworth Health Park plays a crucial role in providing patient care under the supervision of a Physician, Nurse Supervisor, and/or Practice/Office Manager. This position requires the LPN to recognize patient needs and symptoms proactively, ensuring that care is delivered effectively and efficiently. The LPN is responsible for preparing patients for examinations, assisting during treatments, coordinating necessary tests, and ensuring follow-up care is provided. Additionally, the LPN is tasked with recording treatment details in the medical record and assisting with patient and family education. The role demands a high level of competency and skill to cater to patients across all age groups, including neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric populations. The LPN is expected to uphold the standards of nursing practice as outlined by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act and the National Federation of Licensed Practical Nurses, Inc. (NFLPN). As a member of the patient services team, the LPN must advocate for the voice of the patient while adhering to system policies and procedures, all while supporting service excellence goals. In terms of professional practice and responsibility, the LPN is expected to practice within the scope of nursing standards and promote health through evidence-based clinical care. This includes utilizing analytical and critical thinking skills to ensure individualized patient care and coordinating care through effective partnerships. The LPN must also demonstrate teamwork and collaboration by coordinating the delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care, which includes engaging in interdisciplinary communication methods and promoting a respectful clinical environment. The LPN is also responsible for their professional development, completing all required competency assessments and education, and may serve as a mentor or preceptor for other practical nurses or unlicensed staff. They are encouraged to participate in evidence-based practice and research, contributing to performance improvement initiatives within the nursing field. The LPN will provide direct patient care as directed by the provider and proactively plan for patient care across the continuum. They will also act as a patient liaison and advocate, ensuring that care is culturally sensitive and patient-centered, always focusing on the patient's goals in the care plan. The LPN must comply with all WellStar Health System policies, standards of work, and the code of conduct.

Requirements
? Graduate from a practical or vocational nursing program.
,
? Current/active license as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Georgia.

? Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association prior to hire date.

? Previous healthcare experience, preferably in an ambulatory or outpatient setting.

? Strong organizational and time management skills to ensure patient comfort and satisfaction.

? Strong interpersonal and human relations skills to interact positively with staff, providers, and patients.

? Ability to communicate and understand verbal and written English language.

? Basic computer skills and ability to optimize technology in clinical care.
Nice-to-haves
? Experience in a hospital-based setting may substitute for some required experience.
